Okay, first let me apologize for the lateness of this post. it's been nearly year since i popped anything here. and while i'm sure everyone you know (and possibly even you) has a blog with, like- 3 posts then nothing, it was always my goal to keep this thing up to date.
so, what happened? renal failure. My family has a history of kidney disease, and it was my turn up to bat.
so, first I got sick- which meant i couldn't go to work this made it easy for my boss to fire me (via text message, no less) which meant i had no money which meant I couldn't pay rent which meant eviction and a move back in with my parents.
then came another hospital stay, becoming disabled, and official retirement at 35.
no, except for the 13 and a 1/2 hours of dialysis a week and feeling sort of sick on occasion, everything is actually pretty good. stress is fairly low (not counting the stress that comes with living with your parents at 35) health is getting better everyday, and i have time to write again.
the monotony of that job was slowly killing me anyway, and the lack of any benefits and the expectation to be "happy with what I got" was driving me mad.
but, you don't have to settle, and i'd settled for 10 years. fuck that.
the only suck part is that it took a near death experience to put me in a position to be able to do the things I want to do without having to settle. eh, such is life...
Im glad your getting better! Being sick and living at home both suck... I totally feel you on that one!
